Watched Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest last night, and if you grew up in the “golden era”, then this movie is essential. Without giving too much away, there’s plenty of geeky humor from the docs‘ many interviewees, including Black Thought calling Tribe’s early look “questionable”. Rating: 4 out of 5 pooka shells. Now sit back, relax, and watch A Tribe Called Quest’s first video “I Left My Wallet in El Segundo” from 1990 (see stick figure do the running man at 3:20).
