DO THE RUNNING MAN

ain't no half steppin'

Running the Chicago Marathon has become an annual tradition for me… It’s one of my favorite races because of the spectacular course, I mean, what’s not to like about taking in one of the most beautiful cities in the world by foot? (Not to mention, it’s a flat course.) You can really feel the energy from the crowd in every neighborhood: from The Loop and Boystown, to Chinatown and The Southside. In addition to being a fun run, I also look forward to the marathon’s creative campaign. Last year, Chicago-based artist Cody Hudson aka Struggle Inc. handled all the graphic design elements surrounding Nike’s involvement in the 2012 Chicago Marathon. It was probably one of the most memorable campaigns I can remember… I wonder what they got in store for 2013?

On February 19, Chicago Marathon registration system crashed. Thousands were left unable to register due to system troubles. The Chicago Marathon then switched to a lottery system to fill the remaining 15,000 slots. After waiting 2 weeks to see if I could run my 4th straight… I’m in.
